FOREWORD TO SECOND EDITION
Our benefactor, the late Ven. Mahasi Sayadaw had delivered the Kama Sutta in Myanmar language on (25.1.1965) at the phanyin Dhamma Hall in Mahasi Meditation Centre, Yangon, Myanmar. One thousand volumes of the Kama Sutta were distributed as Dhamma gift on (27.3.1974) by the family of U Thein Aung and Daw Sein Tin on the occasion of their ordination ceremony.
Buddha Sasana Nuggaha Organization (B.S.N.O) had printed the Second Edition on (3.9.1976) and
distributed to the public. Up to February 2015 the Buddha Sasana Nuggaha Organization
had printed the Sutta in Myanmar for the 7th time already.
The English translation of the Kama Sutta was done
by Dr. Kay Mya Yee and distributed to the public in December 2003 by Buddha
Sasana Nuggaha Organization. It is quite understandable that the English translation
of the Kama Sutta is nearly out of print for public distribution after
nearly twelve years from the first printing.
We really appreciate and thank to the members of the Pariyatti and Patipatti propagation sub-committee, Buddha Sasana Nuggaha Organization for their work in bringing out this Second Edition of the English translation of the Kama Sutta. In particular we would like to mention our respects and thanks to the Nayaka Sayadaw Ven. TEJINDA (Dhammasariya, M.A), principal of the Mahasi Training School for Foreign Mission, for checking spelling of the pali words included in the Kama Sutta and the last but not the least to Dr. Aung San, Buddha Sasana Nuggaha Organization for English proof reading.
May you all be happy, healthy and attain Magga Phala and
Nibbana Soon.
Dr. Tint Soe Lin
President
Buddha Sasana Nuggaha
Organization, Mahasi Sasana
Yeiktha, Yangon.
